Resistive Circuit Tutorials!

Thanks for joining Electrical Theory: Resistive Circuits training!

Out of all the electrical theory, this is the most important, because..

You learn the essentials of electrical theory like:

  • The basics of Volts, Amps, Resistance, and Watts
  • What is Ohm’s Law and the Power Triangle
  • Solving Series & Parallel Circuits
  • Solving Combination Circuits (Both Series & Parallel)

Now.. hear me out..

On a jobsite as an electrician, you actually use very little electrical theory..

This is because the electrical engineer (who creates the electrical prints) does all of these calculations in their computer program.. we simply look at the electrical prints to tell us what wire size to pull..

But, as electricians, we’re not dumb! We still need to know what we’re doing, and there are times where the electrical engineer has been WRONG.. and the electrician is there to double-check their work!

Let me say this..

It’s important you learn electrical theory basics..

And to start off, we’re covering Resistive Circuits.

You’ll learn how easy Ohm’s Law makes finding Volts, Amps, Resistance, and Wattage! (The Power Triangle is also used here).

Further, we cover Series and Parallel circuits!

Electricians mainly wire in parallel, as it keeps the voltage the same at your plugs, switches and lights..

It’s quite rare residential and commercial electricians wire in Series.. but it’s important to know the characteristics of a Series Circuit.

More advanced circuits often throw in, capacitance and inductance, but if you’re strong on Resistive Circuits, it helps SO MUCH in your electrical schooling, and out in the field!

So go check your email for the Resistive Circuit Theory Tutorials!

Ohm’s Law is the first place I want you to start with!
